Jackson comes into the side for injured Newcastle rake Chris Adams giving the five-time Group 11 Player of the Year and twice NSW Country captain his sixth year in a row of representative honours for NSW Country.
Jackson has been battling to return to full fitness since suffering an ankle injury during the pre-season and admitted he was surprised to receive the call.
“I got the call up at 4pm on Wednesday,” Jackson said after arriving in the team camp at Forster late yesterday.
“It was a big surprise especially considering I didn’t play any rep footy at all this season.”
The game on Saturday night will be the only game for NSW Country this year after the Quad Series was scrapped and therefore Jackson will only miss one Group 11 game for Macquarie
