Saints are improving with Jessica McPherson doing fantastic kicks in the centre, Mitchell Woodman displayed excellent kicks in the backs and tackling skills, while Brigham Ngatuakana scored a goal and showed excellent ball control.
Jacob Follent displayed great work in the centres and just as effective attacking the ball.
Ebony Vine had wonderful tackling skills in the centres and passed the ball to team-mates while Katerina Agnew scored a goal and showed great attacking skills.
Jacob Hazelton has shown huge improvement in attacking the ball and big kicks to team-mates, while Daniel Cullen, who was great in the backs, stopped a goal and set up one at the other end.
This was a close match and skills are developing.
Coach Paul Walker says the Saints still need to attack the ball more, but are playing very well.
The performance of Newtown 8s against SDW Sharks was highlighted by a great goal from Bridgett Mulholland.

Newtown 10s had a fantastic game with all team members trying their hardest.

All team members were congratulated on their commitment to the game and especially McDonald's award winner Chris Orchard.
Wellington was the opponent for Newtown 11s, who had only 10 players available as a result of injuries.
The Saints went down 6-2 but showed true spirit in scoring the first and the last goal in the second half.
All players put in 100 per cent with Toby Tucker and Sam Walker scoring the goals. Other strong performances were from Annabelle Walker and Jordan Knapp.
In under-12s Newtown came up against Narromine Rebels in a game that finished 3-all.
After starting well and going to a 2-0 lead, the score was level by half-time.
It was a pleasing effort as Newtown had no reserves for the whole game.
Strong games came from Jacob Desposito in goal, Katelin Greenaway in the backs, Anthony Carmen in the forwards and Joe Evans in mid field.
Newtown Girls had to play SASS with only seven players and did well to lead 1-0 early before going down 3-1 in a courageous effort.
All girls are to be commended on their effort with Teagan Brownlow trying extremely hard all game with some amazing saves around the goal and Tiarne Boland strong in defence.
Players of the match were Tory Hodder and Jessica Irvin who both tried very hard all game under constant pressure.
