According to Rangers soccer club publicity officer Charlie Andreas, both teams are keen as mustard to be the first winners of the Charity Cup and the game should be a great spectacle to watch.
All Rangers senior players will be present tomorrow and they will be using this local derby match to pass the Charity Cup around the fields and raise much-needed funds for the Children's Ward at the Dubbo Base Hospital.
Andreas said that the seniors had decided to give the money from every Rangers Charity Cup match to Dubbo Base.
"There are many children who don't get to play sport due to illness or injuries and it's the Rangers' way of giving the kids a lift," Andreas said.
The idea of the Cup was put forward by Andreas and with great support from Cheryl Jacobson at KC Trophies and Embroidery and Jeremy Cusack (Amaroo Hotel) the Charity Cup concept was born.
Tomorrow's match will be played at 9am on Lady Cutler 16 and both sides will be vying for their first win after both recorded a draw and a loss in their first two matches of the season.
Coaches Mark Roberts (Gold Crownies) and Bob Dent (Silver Sterlings) have instructed their troops that they want "their
team's name" on the Charity Cup first.
