Dunn, a student at Dubbo South High Campus, has earned a run at halfback in the under-15s after his Western team beat North West 10-6 in an even contest at Gilgandra on Tuesday.
Tim Vaughan from Armidale is coach of the team with Tony Wilson (Gilgandra) his manager.
Other Dubbo area players in the 17-player squad are talented prop Ainsley Coxsedge (Gilgandra), Byron Warren (Nyngan) at full back and Grant Jenkins (Trundle) in the second row. Robbie Skinner (Gilgandra) is on the bench.
North West dominated the open division trial scoring tries at will in a 50-6 romp.
Western coach Tony Tilburg (Delroy), who was later named coach of the Greater Western team, said the North West boys were outstanding.
"They were big, aggressive and fast and we didn't get a look in," he said.
"Their No 10 prop Tom Leayroyd from Farrer is a real talent and made the New South Wales Schoolboys last year aged only 16 and last week was named in the State 17s.
"We had six Western Division under-18s in our side but were simply outclassed.
"As a result only full back Blake Tremain-Cannon from Peak Hill is in the top 13 while Luke Jermyn (Cobar), Tim Tobin (Canowindra) and Luke Hilton (Cowra) got a place on the bench."
