The band, fronted by rock legend Dave Grohl, is rumoured to be appearing at Geelong's largest stadium, Kardinia Park's GMHBA Stadium, next month.
The show is reportedly part of an initiative to promote a new statewide celebration of live music, 'Always Live'. The initiative aims to promote the state as a world-class destination for live music.
The band is yet to make an official announcement but that didn't stop The Herald Sun reporting the gig.
Grohl is no stranger to Australia and its regions, writing an instrumental piece for the two Tasmanian miners in the Beaconsfield gold mine collapse back in 2006.
It came about after one of the miners, Brant Webb, requested an iPod be sent filled with Foo Fighters songs.

Grohl heard about the story and sent them a note, reportedly saying "Though I'm halfway around the world right now, my heart is with you both, and I want you to know that when you come home, there's 2 tickets to any Foos show, anywhere, and 2 cold beers waiting for yous. Deal?"
Foo Fighters have announced they will be touring Canada through September and October this year.
