"It is important we listen to the opinions of young people and the community to design and build the best facility funding can offer. We think we've done that," Mr Teakle said.
He said the PCYC would collaborate with the community, Walgett Shire Council and other organisations to deliver youth programs.
There will also be collaboration with NSW Police to deliver the RiseUp strategy, providing a safe space for the community to gather and feel supported.
Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Premier Sam Farraway said the PCYC would help address youth and community disadvantage by providing recreation, community outreach and sporting activities for young people in Walgett.
Minister for Regional Youth Bronnie Taylor said the facility would also open up future employment opportunities for the town's young people.
"Everybody has been working hard to get this facility open before the summer holidays so young people can benefit from this fabulous initiative," Mrs Taylor said.
The PCYC was funded by the NSW government, with co-funding from Walgett Shire Council.
