Gates for the event will open at 4pm before the fireworks start at 9pm.
Rides, family entertainment and market stalls will be available throughout the evening leading into the fireworks display.
Dubbo Show Society secretary Sue Hood said the organisation was thrilled to host fireworks as part of welcoming the new year.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Ms Hood said she was thankful there were currently not any limits on how many people they could have attend the event.
"Last year we had a limit of 3000 people who were able to attend but they had to be a couple of metres apart," she said.
With the restrictions in place last year, Ms Hood admitted it did become difficult to turn people away who had not purchased any tickets before the event.
"It was on the night when 3000 people had booked the tickets through 123 Tix and we still had some people who didn't turn up," she said.
"That took it away from people who turned up at the gate and we weren't allowed to let them in because we had the 3000 tickets that were already booked out.
"So it made it difficult but we still had pretty close to the 3000 people here."
While there is no cap on how many people can attend, Ms Hood is hopefully of at least doubling the number of people from last year's event.
"Well the first year we had 6000 people came," she said.
"I'd expect a similar amount of people with no restrictions. With the showground you've got plenty of room to move if you want to. You don't have to sit on top of one another.
"That's one good thing about the showground is that you can distance yourself away from people."
