The brand new $7.7 million data centre will provide more than 600 jobs while also having the potential for more than $100 million per year in regional economic growth.
The centre will help lead the way for faster, more reliable and cheaper internet access, while also having the possibility for a future investment.
Leading Edge Data Centres (LEDC) is the company behind the development and opted to choose Dubbo as its third location after building similar facilities both in Newcastle and Tamworth.
Thanks to LEDC, Dubbo will now be able to access direct cloud connectivity rather than connecting through traditional internet links.
Dubbo Regional Council chief executive officer Murray Wood said the organisation had been working closely with LEDC to help get the centre up and running while a local construction business had also been a big winner from the deal.

"The economic development team at council worked alongside other members of the government and private industry to support bringing this development to Dubbo, including finding the right locations and potential business partners," he said.
"A really good outcome was that David Payne Construction not only delivered this facility, but is delivering data centres in Coffs Harbour, Albury and other places."
Mr Wood knows the data centre will help people in their personal and professional lives going forward.
"In our private lives data is all around us whether it's our Netflix watching habits or our phones," he said.
"But every industry is going to an advanced level of data use and management, particularly Edge data where you need the management of data to be very close to where you're using it.
"In our region in particular there's a renewable energy zone where we effectively have a huge dispersed power station that's going to need data management.
"In terms of setting up our region for success, this is a key piece of essential infrastructure."
An analysis undertaken by Social Ventures Australia has indicated to council there will be several long-term impacts from the centre.
The impacts include roughly 621 jobs created, $57 million per year contribution to the economy, $30 million in benefits to businesses through decreased network costs, reduction of network outages and increased productivity, a further $20 million in benefits will be available by unlocking new business opportunities.
