The Resident Builders Group (RBG) met with members of REINSW-Orana Division (REI) to speak about the continuing shortage of residential housing opportunities in Dubbo.
The two groups will meet with Dubbo Regional Council on November 29 and spokespersons for both groups are looking forward to addressing the current issues.
"The first meeting of the Dubbo Regional Council reference group is welcome," spokespersons Brad Acheson of RBG and Bob Berry of REI said in a joint statement.

"It is hoped the forming of a working group of the two property industry organisations will assist Dubbo Regional Council to address the current under supply of housing in Dubbo."
According to Mr Acheson, independent residential builders are becoming increasingly concerned about the current supply of land to meet the demands of owner-occupiers seeking to build in 2022.
While on the real estate front, currently the rental demand is huge in Dubbo which is placing pressure to add to the supply of investment houses for tenants to be able to move into.
A proposal for a housing reference group arose from the Dubbo Regional Council housing availability forum of residential housing stakeholders which was held back in June.
The reference group's main focus will be on assisting council by informing them of market movements and demands as new developments create housing demands in the future.
Both the RBG and REI believe some major developers in Dubbo have building contracts as far ahead as 2023 indicating the demand for available house lots.
