Communities across the Central West and Orana are being invited to help shape the region's future by giving feedback on the NSW Government's draft plan to support housing, jobs and investment in the region over the next 20 years.

The Central West and Orana Regional Plan 2041 sets out strategies to guide development in the region's 19 local government areas including Dubbo Regional, Mid-Western, and Narromine.

Big boost for Dubbo company
Last week I was excited to announce $200,000 for Dubbo-based skincare company Native Secrets to upscale their production, creating 10 local jobs in the process.
"Being a local girl and now being able to create local jobs and opportunities, especially for the Indigenous people in the community, bringing people back together on country, it means a lot," CEO Cherie Thompson said.
Mindyarra opportunity 'priceless'
Dubbo tradies are capitalising on the unprecedented investment in regional NSW, saying the opportunity to work on the Mindyarra Regional Rail Maintenance Facility is "priceless"!
I recently caught up with two of them - JLE Group project manager Brock Harris and Central West Plumbing and Civil Drainage director Tim Connolly - to chat about the benefits of the project.
"All of our workers are local and not a lot of local workers have had experience like this so it's great that Transport NSW is doing everything it can to get myself and all the employees the training to do this job, and others in the future. This is definitely the next step for the bigger works that we want to be doing," Mr Connolly said.
Mr Harris then added: "The experience our guys will get from this will take them through for the rest of their lives, so it's a great opportunity. We do a lot of work around regional NSW and to bring our main core of staff back to where we all live, we go back to our families every night, that's priceless".
Design for new Rawsonville Bridge
The community is being invited to have its say on the environmental assessment and detailed design of the newer, stronger bridge to be built across the Macquarie River at Rawsonville, west of Dubbo.
The Review of Environment Factors (REF) and detailed design is on display until Wednesday December 22.
The community can review the REF and detailed design online at: nswroads.work/rawsonville or in person at the Dubbo Regional Library.
There will also be community drop in sessions at the Rawsonville Memorial Hall on Tuesday 7 December between 2pm and 4pm, and 6pm and 8pm, and at the Western Plains Cultural Centre in Dubbo on Wednesday 8 December between 4pm and 7pm.
