The Lachlan River flood peak was making slow progress towards Forbes and surrounds as the Forbes Advocate prepared for press on Wednesday.

The anticipated peak was revised down from a predicted 10.65m peak at the Iron Bridge to 10.55 - the major flood level - in the flood bulletin issued Wednesday morning.
Local SES controller Roc Walshaw said the water was moving slowly, but it was certainly progressing across country.

"Every flood is different," he said.
"The water is moving slower than normal, there's a lot of vegetation around.
"It will come, all those people who have been prepared so far have done a good job and looked after their properties," Mr Walshaw said.
"The next place we are looking at is Bedgerabong, we've got a crew out there right at the moment helping with sandbagging to get Bedgerabong prepared."
