A 26-year-old man who allegedly broke into a home, punched a teenager in the head, and kicked a paramedic has been refused bail.

About 6.30pm on Thursday, police were called to a home on Merilba Street in Narromine following reports of a break, enter and assault.
Police allege the man kicked open a door of a unit, before smashing a window inside the home. The residents attempted to flee, before the man punched a 15-year-old in the head.

Officers arrived and deployed capsicum spray to subdue the man before he was arrested.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were treating the man at the scene for his injuries when he allegedly kicked a paramedic in the knee.
He was taken to Dubbo hospital for treatment, before he was taken to Dubbo Police Station. He was charged with two counts of common assault, resist officer in execution of duty and aggravated break and enter with intent - knowing person there.
He appeared before Dubbo Local Court on Friday where he was formally refused bail. The matter will return to court on January 13, 2022.
