It might have been about as far from the glamour and prestige of the Melbourne Cup as possible on Tuesday, but combining with daughter Chelsea for a win at Dubbo was a special moment for Wanda Ings.

The trainer-and-jockey team won the McDonald's McDelivery Run F&M Maiden Plate (1200m) with Ardstraw during Dubbo Turf Club's Melbourne Cup Day meeting.
Ardstraw had shown promise at times during her career, finishing second twice last preparation, but she entered Tuesday's event having not run better than seventh in her past three starts.

The drop back in grade made the difference on Tuesday, as Chelsea got a tough performance out of Ardstraw ($14) and won the event by almost a half-length.
"She's a beautiful little mare," Wanda Ings said after the win.
"She's been racing at TAB meetings so today she dropped back and we're delighted. She's beautifully bred so the owners will be rapt.
"It was a really tough effort. She drew wide and sat wide and she's a filly you can't push forward, you've got to let her go forward on her won but but it's a great result."
The win wasn't the first the Ings pair have scored together, but it's always special considering the amount of work that goes into preparing horses at their Bathurst stables.
"Chels does all the work at our stables so I couldn't be happier for her. She's a good girl," Wanda said.
Chelsea was made to work for the win, after Skye Lover ($3.50) and Cod Bye ($21) had earlier set the pace up front.

The Greg O'Neill-trained Cod Bye held the lead early on and stayed there as the field approached the turn for home.
Skye Lover and Twittersphere ($4) threatened by Ardstraw quickly came into picture on the outside.
She took the lead midway down the straight but there was still plenty of work to do as challengers emerged either side.
But in a show of a desire, and one that could boost the mare's confidence going forward, Ardstraw kept fighting and beat home Twittersphere and Skye Lover while the raging hot $1.50 favourite Dreamdust had to settle for fourth.
"She had two seconds last prep and it was was very, very nice to see her win," Wanda Ings added.
The victory wasn't the only time a mother-and-daughter team won at Dubbo on Tuesday.
Just two events after the Ings win, Sharon and Tiffany Jeffries teamed up to win with Coulpa.
Tiffany rode Coulpa to victory for her Parkes-based mother in the McDonald's Benchmark 50 Handicap (1600m), the gelding's first success since back-to-back wins in January and February.
Coulpa ($3.50) won by a half-length from The Browzer ($2.80 favourite) and Proudest Moment ($13).
