Mr Perrottet along with Deputy premier Paul Toole and Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliot all made their way to Dubbo to make some important announcements.
The trio landed at Dubbo City Regional Airport early on Monday morning which marked the end of travel restrictions between regional areas and Greater Sydney.
"A lot of areas across our state have been hard hit," Mr Perrottet said.
"I've got a strong affiliation with Dubbo.
"I was only here a few months ago.
"I love the zoo here and it's on the list today.
"As Dugald said it is the capital of the west."

For Mr Perrottet it's a welcome return to Dubbo and the premier had a first-hand look at how local businesses had fared during the recent lockdown.
"There is a lot of excitement right across the state today," he said.
"There is a long journey to go for our state.
"But I am very confident that we've been able to do this in a safe way and there'll be challenges that come our way.
"To be here in Dubbo is a great opportunity to meet business owners and many members of the community to get a sense on the ground myself around where are the opportunities going forward and what role can the government play to help build confidence as we open up more."
While there are just a few weeks until NSW residents can travel interstate without needing to quarantine, Mr Perrottet believes everything tourists need is right here.
"[There's] plenty of time to check out regional NSW," he said.
"Even when they open the borders to South Australia and Queensland, there is no point going there.
"Because we have the best right here in regional NSW.
"I think we can all play a role here because our regional businesses have been doing it tough.
"Our city businesses have been doing it tough.
"I say to people in regional NSW today, come to the city and look after some of the businesses who have gone through a very difficult time."
Mr Perrottet and Mr Toole also took time on Monday morning to have a tour around the Taronga Western Plains Zoo and feed some giraffes.
