The Dubbo District Cricket Association competitions will finally get under way on Saturday after being delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Like most clubs around Dubbo, Jeffrey knows the side are eager to start their season on the right note.
"Everyone's sort raring to go," he said.
"We will have a very similar squad to what we had last year.
"With pre-season training and being in lockdown I think it has made people hungrier.
"To come off the back off taking it out last year and the added hunger of not doing too much for a couple of months has sort of been good for our side.
"Especially with having a few older blokes.
"We can let them have a bit of a rest and get ready to go again."
RSL Colts boasts arguably the most experienced side in the competition with the likes of Mitch Bower, Brad Cox, Chris Morton, Jason Ryan and Ben Taylor mixed in with the likes of Jeffrey and Charlie Kempston who have both played several years in the top grade.
While pre-season has been limited for clubs with training sessions returning just two weeks ago, Jeffrey does not see the short preparation for the season as a problem.
"I don't really see it as an issue," he said.
"I think everyone's sort of on an even playing field.
"But I think with having the more experienced guys in the side it will fend well going into the season."

There has been talk around town Colts could be boosted by the returns of former Western Zone all-rounder Greg Buckley as well as big-hitting quick Tom Atlee this season.
"They're both still sort of question marks," Jeffrey said on the pair's return.
"They have been some of the conversations but we will just see how the season pans out.
"Other than those two guys our squad will be very similar."
RSL Colts unearthed a pair of future stars last season with left-arm tearaway quick Riley Keen and the explosive Anthony Atlee who just a few of the players Jeffrey is eager to watch develop through the year.
"We've got a couple of those younger guns coming through the squad this year," he said.
"Guys like Riley Keen, Tyson Deebank, Ant Atlee is still there.
"You look at blokes trying to come into the side like Tom Masonwells who played second grade last year and is knocking on the door.
"It's the same with Rabi Sharma, who had an awesome year in 2s last year.
"That's the really positive thing for us.
"Looking at these younger guys to come into the squad and if you can add blokes like Greg [Buckley] and Tommy [Atlee] it starts to look like a pretty good squad.
Saturday will be a Twenty20 for all RSL Whitney Cup sides and awaiting RSL Colts are the CYMS Cougars in what will be a grand final rematch from last season.
However, CYMS are different side this season with Brock Larance and Ben Patterson both joining the men in green for this season.
"I think it's great the players CYMS have picked up," Jeffrey said.
"It just makes the comp look better and stronger.
"CYMS were tough last year and always gave us a tough game.
"Even in the grand-final they were never sort of out of it.
"But you add blokes like 'Patto' [Patterson] and Brock especially with the ball in those overs through the middle in the short form we are playing, it will definitely help to make a tough game.
"I'm really looking forward to it.
"These are the type of games you want to play.
"You don't want to show up and not get a good run."
Play starts 1pm.
