Members of the Rotary Club of Dubbo Macquarie have come out of lockdown with renewed commitment to "service above self".

Their first face-to-face meeting since Dubbo's two-month lockdown ended provided opportunity to plan for events such as the 2022 Michael Egan Memorial Book Fair.
President Susie Rowley is encouraging others looking to serve their community to consider joining Rotary clubs in Dubbo and district.

"I know a lot of people have been thinking about this while in lockdown," she said.
"There are a lot of places in need of help.
"Rotary is such a fun experience and a way to be doing something for your community."
During the lockdown the Rotary Club of Dubbo Macquarie kept in touch through Zoom.
Mrs Rowley said it was a means of "making sure everyone was fine and to have a bit of a chat".
"But it's not the same as sitting in a room and sharing a meal together and talking about what's coming up," she said.
At the Westside Hotel on Tuesday, club members looked to the end of the year and beyond.
They have given the nod to again running ham wheels at monthly markets in the lead-up to Christmas and chosen the first weekend of May 2022 for the book fair.
For more than a decade the fair has provided the community with affordable and quality books.
The year-round effort required to run the fair came down to a "small club with a big heart", Mrs Rowley said.
"We quietly do our thing," she said.
"All our members are good people."
