Lundholm and Harwok'N'Zoff took out the Tamburlaine Wines Benchmark 58 Handicap but half a length with jockey Brodie Loy riding the five-year-old gelding to perfection.
Speaking to Sky Thoroughbred Central after the race, Lundholm admitted the win had been a long time coming.
"Well overdue," he said.
"Like I said in the preview leading into this, he's a very frustrating horse.
"Even on the straight there he wanted to lay across them and find something to beat him home.
"But anyway, it was a really good ride. He was very patient and got the job done."
Harwok'N'Zoff powered home around the outside after sitting in the pack heading into the final bend and Lundholm said he felt the gelding was moving pretty well.
"He sure was," he said.

"That's always the concern he hits the front too early and wants to hit the brakes. But like I said he rode him perfectly and he has hit the line in front today."
Lundholm will now turn his attention to Cootamundra on Friday with The Big Seal, Don't Question Me and Elusive Eagle all running. The Dubbo trainer will also Notabadenidea run in the $29,000 Twin Hills Cootamundra Cup.
Moving onto Saturday, Mudgee will host five races with with Lundholm sending four horses from his stable to run. Nepenthes, The Browzer, My Shiromi and Sizzling Millie will all run at Mudgee before Lundholm's attention turns to Coonabarabran on Sunday.
Coonabarabran will host their Showcase Cup and Showcase Sprint in their biggest day of racing for the year. Lundholm has nominated Notabadidea in the Showcase Cup but could wait to see how the horse recovers from Friday's run as is the same for Elusive Eagle who is in the Sprint.
Sliverhawk and Hit The Rim have also been nominated for races throughout the day. Star of Kings and The Big Seal are nominated in the Maiden Showcase Plate.
