The Dubbo product and former Matildas player was crowd Canberra's National Premier League player of the year on the weekend.
Now playing for Canberra Olympic FC after a glittering career with Canberra United and the Portland Thorns in the US, Sykes was still at her lethal best in front of goal in 2021.

Sykes may have retired from top level football in 2018, but the 29-year-old banged in 21 goals in 17 games on her way to being crowned the league's best player this season.
Olympic was coached by Sykes' twin sister, Nicole Begg, this season.
There was only three games in in which Sykes failed to get on the scoresheet during her tremendous 2021 season.
Sykes scored five goals in 19 games for the Matildas in her career.
