Macquarie junior Hughes has been in the Sixers' lineup for the first two matches of WBBL|07 but she is yet to have the chance to bowl or bat for her side.
Despite that, there's still been plenty of reason to smile as her star-studded side has won each of its opening two matches.
After defeating the Melbourne Stars in a rain-affected opener on Thursday, the Sixers scored a narrow win over the Hobart Hurricanes in the first game of Sunday double-header at Hobart.
After the Sixers won the toss and opted to bowl, it appeared Hughes was every chance of getting the ball in hand but captain Ellyse Perry has a wealth of options available to her this season.

No bowler the skipper threw the ball to let the Sixers down as the Hurricanes were reduced to 3-26 early on.
While there was a Richa Ghosh-led fightback which helped the Hurricanes to 9-125, it proved not enough as the Sixers won by five wickets with three balls to spare.
Indian international Shafali Verma was the star of the run chase, making 57 from 50 balls.
Her effort followed a strong all-round performance with the ball.
Each of the six bowlers used took a wicket, and four of them claimed two wickets each.
Perry took 2/9 from two overs while young seamer Maitlan Brown took 2/23 from four and Nicole Bolton's spin yielded 2/29 from her four.
Radha Yadav chimed in with 2/31 while Ashleigh Gardner also impressed, finishing with 1/16 from four.
In a sign of the Sixers' strength with the ball, 20-year-old Hughes wasn't used at all while Australian representative Stella Campbell only bowled two overs.
In the run chase, things didn't begin ideally for the Sixers as both Alyssa Healy (3) and Gardner (3) fell early.
Shafali and Perry (27) steadied the ship before the young Indian sensation began to lift the run rate.
She hit six fours in her knock but couldn't see it through, falling to Molly Strano (3/19), but Bolton (17 not out) guided her side to victory.
The match was part of a mixed weekend for Western Zone stars in the WBBL.
Hughes was named again, an impressive effort in itself given the strength of the Sixers' squad, but didn't get the chance to contribute while Bathurst's Lisa Griffith missed out on selection for the Perth Scorchers' opener against Brisbane on Sunday.
Teenage Orange star Phoebe Litchfield is again part of the Sydney Thunder lineup this season but she couldn't help her side start with a win on Saturday.
Litchfield made 16 in her side's 30-run loss to Adelaide.
Hughes' Sixers are next in action on Wednesday afternoon when they again do battle with the Stars.
