Dubbo and district residents with six hours to spare each week are being invited to attend an information session at a rebranded store in the central business district next week.
St Vincent de Paul, better known as Vinnies, is revving up its efforts to man its new and huge store at 151 Macquarie Street, formerly occupied by Harris Scarfe.
It is scheduled to open to "fully-vaccinated" shoppers on Wednesday, October 27.
Last week Vinnies' regional retail manager for north-western NSW, David Powter, told of the charity launching a marketing campaign to boost the ranks of volunteers for the store.
He said volunteer numbers at Dubbo had dwindled because of the threat of COVID-19 and "vaccination questions".
Vinnies is appealing for help as Dubbo's double-vaccination rate nears 80 per cent.
On Tuesday 94.7 per cent of people in the Dubbo Regional Council area had received their first jab and 79.9 per cent their second.
"Vinnies Dubbo is looking for volunteers to fulfill a variety of roles, including operating the register, sorting donations and assisting customers," a spokesman for the charity said on Wednesday.
"Volunteers will need to commit around six hours each week across one to two days."
The new store will host the event from 9am to noon on Thursday, October 21.

The Vinnies spokesman said like all businesses in NSW, its stores needed to comply with the state government's public health orders.
"We are asking all visitors to check in with QR codes posted at our doors, to wear a mask inside Vinnies shops, and to be fully vaccinated so that we comply with the public health orders," he said.
"For people without a smart phone, pen and paper sign in is available. We have measures in place to ensure these rules are being followed. Please do the right thing and help our volunteers and staff protect our community."
