An up-and-comer from the Kody Nestor stables, Grandellie made a strong return to the track when taking out Friday's Maas Group Maiden Handicap (1000m) by almost three lengths.
Grandellie went into Friday's event after running second to stablemate Golden Gorge in a Narromine trial last month.
Prior to that, she'd spent five months in the paddock following a fourth-placed finish on debut in April.
"She's a nice filly," Nestor said after her second career start on Friday.
"She's shown a lot of improvement for her last prep but we've just got to work on her manners early.
"She got a little hot in the yard but I'm sure she'll be better for the experience and she's a nice filly going forward."

Nestor confirmed a Highway event could be up next for Grandellie as the potential was clear to see in Friday's win.
Aaron Sweeney produced a fine performance in the saddle, sitting just off the lead with Grandellie ($4) for much of the trip before taking control at the top of the straight.
Wealthy Girl ($7.50) and Reach For Joy ($91) had set the pace early but once Grandellie shot clear in the middle of the track the writing was on the wall.
Brett Robb's Lipstick Lil, the $3.60 favourite, was forced to peel to the extreme outside from midfield but ran home well for second while Wealthy Girl hung on for third.
It was all about Grandellie up front though and she was able to cruise past the line to secure victory.
"She's matured up well," Nestor said after Grandellie's spell.
"Physically, not a drama at all, but mentally I think she's probably six months away.
"She's a nice filly ... it was a good ride from Aaron because he kept her balance. She's still a bit green and new so he held her together and allowed her to finish off."
Nestor's other hope in the race, Camp Voce ($10), finished seventh.
Grandellie's win came after Movin' Denman made a strong start to his career in the day's opening event.
Trained at Newcastle by Amanda Davis, Movin' Denman ran second in a Scone trial last month and followed it up by flying home to steal victory on Friday.
It had appeared a race between Career Change ($3.30) and Scarzel ($1.95 favourite) as they moved clear of the pack in the straight but Grant Buckley got Movin' Denman motoring over the final stages.
A photo was needed to prove Movin' Denman had snatched the win from the Clint Lundholm-trained Career Change in the final strides.
