Monday's meeting at Wellington was moved to Wednesday due to the heavy rain across the weekend but the track was still listed as a Heavy 10 for the first two races before it was upgraded later in the day.
The first race did not disappoint with Lunn's horse finishing first in what proved to be a close finish.
The Dubbo-trained gelding ($6.50) led for much of the race holding the inside of the track before jockey Reece Jones pushed out in front on the straight.

It wasn't an easy pack to push away from with Camo's Dream ($13), Krissy Krystyna ($4) and High Handed ($4) providing an exciting four-way battle across the last 200 metres in particular.
It was the maiden win for Babylon Warrior who came into Lunn's stable earlier this year but had only managed a fourth place finish as his best before Wednesday's win.
Following the race, Lunn told Sky Thoroughbred Central it was an impressive performance to witness.
"He raced well at Dubbo a couple of starts back," he said.
"Then I took him to Forbes and he ran pretty good.
"He had a long way to go, he got kicked in the float so that's what I've had to scratch him."
After Monday's meeting at Wellington was moved to Wednesday, the first race did not disappoint.
Lunn felt before the race his horse could get the job done even though it was not the favourite but knows he has some work to do still.
"He has run some nice races," he said.
"I said to Reece [Jones] he'd be hard to beat and he was $19 into about $6.50 so someone has had a nice win."
Jones agree with Lunn believing Babylon Warrior could run better over an even longer distance.
"He actually got headed a couple of times I thought but he did really well to pick himself up." he said
