The new concrete bridge will replace the existing and 1916 timber truss bridge. The old bridge will not be removed until the new bridge is built, about five metres upstream.
The majority of Rawsonville residents want a new bridge for which planning is "on track", reports Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders.

"Investigations are continuing for the environmental assessment, which will go on display later in the year, along with the concept design, providing the community with an opportunity to provide further feedback on the project," he said.
The new bridge is being funded under the state government's Bridges for the Bush program.
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the new bridge would "future-proof this crossing by increasing load capacity, improving safety and reducing ongoing maintenance costs".
He described the existing bridge as being "in poor condition and no longer suitable for heavy vehicles".
"We will keep the community informed about the project every step of the way to allow them the opportunity to have their say as the new bridge takes shape," Mr Toole said.
