A spokesman for Australia Post said it was watching delivery volumes at Dubbo.
"Across regional Australia we have plans in place with our local delivery people to work additional days across the busy season where needed, and we'll be keeping watch on delivery volumes in Dubbo to make sure we can get parcels to people as quickly as possible," he said.
"We will be hiring people to help with delivery and sorting all over the country based on parcel volumes and local needs, including in many regional areas, and will be recruiting for those roles soon so we encourage people to check online at https://auspost.com.au/jobs."
More than nine million Australians shopped online in the past financial year, with Australia Post's 2021 Inside Online Shopping eCommerce report revealing almost 32 per cent growth year-on-year.
