Medway will replace Ed Haylock in the top job after the latter spent the last few seasons in charge with Macquarie constantly hovering in and around the best sides in the competition.
Although the season launch date is still weeks away, pending on COVID-19 restrictions, Medway is excited to get back on the field with his teammates.
"At the moment it's looking really good," he said.
"We are keeping contact with sort of the older fellas."
"We have a couple of new recruits which will be interesting but it is looking really good."
Macquarie will welcome two big recruits this season after Blake Smith will join his brother Myles at the club while Lachlan Strachan has made the move from CYMS to also join his brother Ben.

Medway is looking forward to watching both players perform throughout the season and knows they have an important role to play.
"It's awesome, they are two big players," he said.
"They will fit roles in our side very well."
While he has captained before, Medway feels he grown even more passionate about cricket and spoke at length with Haylock about his new job in the side.
"Ed and I had a talking a he has a young family now so he has a lot more responsibility," he said.
"My kids are sort of at that age where they don't need me anymore.
"I think I've just grown to be more passionate about the game again and the opportunity came up.
"He and I had a good talk and I'm more than happy to take over the role after him. It's not because he wasn't doing a good job or anything it's just because he is a busy boy.
"I've sort of done it before and I'd like to do it again."
Last season, Macquarie fell away after Christmas with some inconsistent performances which is somewhere the incoming captain is hoping to fix going forward.
"Our main focus is consistency," he said.
"Last year we were very inconsistent.
"After Christmas I think a lot of us had enough of cricket.
"This year I'm going to focus on consistency, positive attitudes and training.
"If we get those three things right we should be well in the top three."
Along with Medway, Haylock, veteran Jason Green and the Strachan, and Smith brothers, Macquarie will no doubt boast one of the strongest all round line-ups in the competition with firepower from top to bottom.
