Festival owner and Managing Director of the Outback Music Festival Group Greg Donovan said moving the event to later this year, which was the original plan, unfortunately wasn't an option.
"Camping in 45-50 degree heat isn't something anyone would sign up for regardless of how awesome the line-up is," Mr Donovan.
The festival will now go ahead on April 21 to April 23, 2022 coinciding with the Easter school holidays.
