Don't put the thermals or extra layers away just yet, weather forecasters say this week will see lower-than-average temperatures until Friday.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), the temperature in Dubbo dipped to -2.3 just before 7am on Monday followed by a maximum of 14.3. We'll be scraping the ice off our cars for a couple more days yet, with the minimum forecast for today at 0, and a brisk -1 on Wednesday.
"That's due to a high-pressure system moving in from the west and that generally brings light winds and lower temperatures, so we'll see some clear skies at night, as well as those low temperatures," BOM Meteorologist Melody Sturm said
This week will see lower-than-average temperatures by 3 to 4 degrees at night, and 2 to 3 degrees during the day.

"The entire Central Western Plains will see the continuation of frosty mornings because of that high pressure system up to and including Thursday morning," Ms Sturm said.
Warmer temperatures are expected by Friday, but there's a catch:
"There's a chance of a low-pressure system developing late Thursday into Friday, bringing showers and the chance of a storm," Ms Sturm said. "From Friday onwards - Saturday and Sunday we'll see the temporary easing of conditions according to how the weather charts are now."
The forecast shows we'll be able to enjoy some sun on Saturday and Sunday, but there's a chance of more wet weather next week.
