The new parents, their daughter Morgan and their housemate had been left with nothing after their property was destroyed in a house fire on Sunday morning.
"We are doing good considering," Mr Smith said.
"Our roommate isn't in a good space mentally at the moment as he was in the house when it was on fire. He is lost for words and is very shaken."

Dubbo firefighters arrived at the Smith's well-alight rental property on Jack William Drive at around 9am and were met with difficult conditions due to a partial roof collapse.
Two FRNSW firefighters were treated for injuries at the scene.
The occupant's belongings, including those of the new family and their housemate, have been destroyed, with little to nothing being salvageable.
Mr Smith said Dubbo Hospital has been super accommodating.

"The hospital has been amazing, it has been great and has been very accommodating to Eliza and Morgan," he said.
Hours after the fire a GoFundMe page was set up by Pagan Hockley to support the family and their housemate with cash, as well as donations in the form of baby items and necessities.
"We are very overwhelmed with how much love and support we are getting from complete strangers, it's so incredible to see a community working together to help us out," Mr Smith said.
Mr Smith said Matt Hansen Real Estate, who they were renting the property through, has also been incredible.
"The entire team at Matt Hansen Real Estate have been beyond incredible for the help they have given all of us," he said.
"In less than 24 hours we have gotten another rental. They have just worked wonders for us and I could never thank our agent (Alisson) enough."
The GoFundMe page has already generated $1,500. Donations can be made at https://gofund.me/cc0368b9.
