The Rotary Club of Dubbo South was first brought to fruition in May 1966 in a bid to support the community through assistance where needed.
Now as Rotary of Dubbo South enters into its 56th year of operations for 2021, Mr Dickerson, former mayor of Dubbo, has made the club's 54th president.
Mr Dickerson was selected as president through its traditional process, having been selected for the role by former Rotary Club of Dubbo South presidents.
Mr Dickerson said it was an honour to have been selected for such a role in a club which he believes makes a huge difference within the community.
"Without realising it, I grew up in Dubbo with the Rotary Club of Dubbo South being an important part of my community," Mr Dickerson said.

"I knew that this club was an important part of my community as I would participate in events like those mentioned but I didn't ever think that I would one day have the chance to lead this important organisation," he said.
"I look forward to an industrious year as the community continues to recover from COVID-19 and I thank the Members of my Board who will share my workload and the Members of the Club for their confidence in me."
The new board of the Rotary Club of Dubbo South for 2021 comprises Mr Dickerson, Jeff Temesvary, Joe Canalese, Henry Jom, Simon Keough, Anthony Barnes, George Richmond, Col Knight, Gab Faponle, Sam Peacocke, Peter Singh, Tony Geraghty, Damien Mahon and Dave Lomax.
