All sporting organisations must have an up-to-date COVID-19 safety plan and adhere to the one person per four square metre and only 50 per cent of available seating used. That means every second seat in a location like the Apex Oval grandstand will become unavailable.
All training and competition attendance must be recorded using a QR code. The QR code needs to be available at the entry point, canteen and amenities or for non-fenced sporting facilities should be located in prominent positions.
Masks must be worn by spectators, coaches, players, officials and other people attending in any capacity at all times except if eating or drinking. Exemptions apply for children under the age of 12, people with autism or intellectual disabilities and other health conditions.
Players and referees are not required to wear masks while engaged in strenuous activity such as training or competition.
Players must wear masks once not participating in strenuous activity and when returning to spectator areas.
Masks must be worn in indoor areas including canteens, functions rooms, change rooms while team songs can now not be sung after games.
Casey White, the competition and development coordinator for AFL Central West, said masks must be worn pre and post matches.
"The players when participating in strenuous exercise won't be required to wear one, however when they're in the change room or once they've finished the game they need to chuck the mask on."
Players, officials and spectators travelling to a game via bus or car-pooling must wear a mask while waiting for arrival or departure and while travelling.
Football NSW, NSW Rugby Union, NSW Rugby League and other major sporting bodies have all released statements in relation to those guidelines, with information for clubs across the state.
The COVID outbreak has forced Central West Rugby Union to postpone its planned Sydney University camp from Monday to Sunday, July 11.
Dubbo Touch Football has asked for minimal spectators at matches and those who do attend should stay in their vehicle while watching.
