One person has died after a car collided with a tree on the Newell Highway on Tuesday afternoon.

Just after 1pm emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, about two kilometres south of Gilgandra after a car left the roadway and collided with a tree.
Two occupants, a man aged in his 80s and woman aged in her 70s, were trapped for a short time before being extracted from the vehicle.
The man was treated for abdominal abrasions and lacerations to his hands. He was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
The female passenger suffered critical injuries, despite the best efforts of paramedics and other emergency services sadly she couldn't be revived.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District remain on scene as investigations continue.
NSW Ambulance inspector Paul Boje has urged motorists to remain vigilant on the road.
"This was an absolutely devastating scene for paramedics and bystanders," he said.
"We really urge the public to drive with extreme caution, these types of incidents are horrific for all involved."
The Newell Highway remains closed in both directions.

Emergency services are on scene after a car collided with a tree on the Newell Highway south of Gilgandra.
NSW Ambulance were called about shortly after 1.30pm on Tuesday afternoon, after it's believed a car collided with a tree along the highway, about two kilometres south of Gilgandra.
Paramedics are treating two patients - a man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s.
It's believed one rescue helicopter is on the way.
Motorists are being asked to reduce their speed and exercise caution.
According to Live Traffic NSW diversions are in place for motorists:
Southbound: Castlereagh Hwy from Gilgandra to Mendooran, then Mendooran Rd, Mogriguy Rd, Ulomogo St, Burraway St to re-join the highway at Brocklehurst.
Northbound: Burraway St, Ulomogo St, Mogriguy Rd, Mendooran Rd, then Castlereagh Highway to re-join the highway at Gilgandra
