Bathurst have already competed in half of their round against Orange with day one of the event postponed until a later date after poor weather including snow fell around the region last week.
It has been ten years since Dubbo last won the Astley Cup and after not being held last year due to COVID-19, this years group are eager to perform.

Dubbo College sports organiser Craig May says the squads are excited to finally get the chance to play.
"[There is a] positive vibe, everyone is keen to do well," he said.
"We will see how we go but as I said all the times are very enthusiastic and have drawn together well.
"There is lots of positivity so hopefully we move in the right direction and get some good results over the next week."
May admitted a strong start to the College's campaign is key.
"Astley Cup is a two-round thing so obviously it's important to perform at home and away," he said.
"A good start will be imperative to us.
"One of the strange things about Astley Cup is we've had plenty of years where each side wins a round and then it's decided on overall points.
"It's never over until it's over, Bathurst and Orange had one of their days delayed so it means we won't know the result potentially until they play the last round."
This year, Dubbo College's girl's hockey team looks strong with several key players but May insists there is no pressure on them at all.
"We just want them to compete," he said.
"Hockey is one of those sports that we have to build into and it's a sport we haven't done so well in over the years."
"We've got a good group of girls this year who are keen and enthusiastic to do well.
"They've got a good skipper in Ellie Purtell and a good coach in Emma Corcoran so they are hoping to put in a strong performance get as many points as they can."
Tennis will be the first event of the day at Paramount Tennis Courts followed by hockey at Pioneer Park, basketball and netball both to be held at Dubbo Sportsworld.
