Real estate principal Samuel Shooter said it was an exciting achievement for the team to win an award on a national scale, especially as a smaller regional agency.
"For us, it was very significant to put Dubbo on the map on that national level within our industry," Mr Shooter said.
The opportunity to compete for the award at the 2021 National Awards for Excellence came after SJ Shooter Real Estate won the same award at state level last year.
"We entered the REIA state awards last year. We went in three sections and were finalists in two of them.
"We won Small Agency of the Year for NSW and I was a finalist for Sales Agent of the Year for NSW.
"Because we won Small Agency of the Year for NSW at state level it meant we were able to enter the national awards representing NSW for Best Small Agency of the Year."
Mr Shooter said they were up against six other states all competing in the same section, with Ashby Partners, East Arnhem Real Estate, Downtown Property and Keyhole Property Investments also vying for the award.
SJ Shooter were fortunate enough to come out on top.
"It's very re-affirming to know we are on the right track with how we treat the people we work with and work for.
"It's also good to see the work we've been putting in over the last six years is amounting to something," he said.
The 2021 Real Estate Institute Australia (REIA) National Awards for Excellence presentation ceremony was held in Darwin, hosted by the Real Estate Institute of the Northern Territory.
On Thursday Mr Shooter attended the ceremony in person to accept the award.
"It was beautiful," he said of the venue.
"It was outdoors right on the edge of Mindil Beach.
"The real Estate Institute of the Northern Territory did a really good job."
