Karla sells Orange spa
BATHURST'S Karla McDiarmid has sold her Orange Medi Spa five years after it opened on Byng Street.
Orange Medi Spa was a spin-off from Ms McDiarmid's hugely popular Macquarie Medi Spa but will operate as Cosmedic Collective when the new owners take over on September 1.
"... We will have more information for you all soon regarding treatments being offered and a new website to book in on but the phone number will remain the same."
Attracting big names
BATHURST continues to be a popular choice for national fast food franchises - and it has not gone unnoticed.
News this week that a development application had been lodged with Bathurst Regional Council to develop a fast food and fuel complex on the corner of the Mitchell Highway and Bradwardine Road. If approved and built, the new complex will take the number of Subway outlets in Bathurst to four and include the city's third McDonald's.
Bathurst's second KFC will be a key tenant in the Gateway development at the city's eastern entrance while plans for a Taco Bell, Carl's Jnr, Oporto and Burger Urge have all been either approved or proposed.
Badland's new look
Established in 2010, Orange based brewery Badlands, is about to launch a new look, with an updated logo and fresh new can design. Head brewer and director Jon Shiner said the brewery is going strong with distribution all along the east coast of Australia. However, with constant growth and recent accolades, the brewery has set its sights on reaching a much wider audience.
As part of the rebrand, two of the existing core range beers have also been given new names. The original Badlands IPA has become Australian Inland Ale. Another popular beer, Brewbacca, has also been given a new moniker and is now known as Brewbacca Draught.
Badlands' sales and marketing manager Lucas Martin said the new logo is designed to communicate the elements most important to the brewery and its customer.
"Badlands is Orange's longest established and only city-based brewery, a fact we are extremely proud of. Badlands has always, and will always, be an active member of the community. The new logo presents our home town in a clear and concise way."
New cans will be rolling out to retailers over the coming weeks with many outlets providing exceptional deals on legacy products.
