More than 2200 people converged on Victoria Park No. 2 Oval on Saturday night for a celebration of Dubbo's cultural diversity.
The fifth annual Cross Cultural Celebration carnival was organised by volunteers from the Orana Residents of Indian Sub-Heritage (ORISCON) and supported by Dubbo Regional Council and Regional Australia Bank.

ORISCON chairperson Mano Manorathan said the event aimed to celebrate various cultures and integration among the community, which he said was a "great success" .
"At both entrances we put a world map and asked everyone to put a pin on their heritage and where they come from, and you can see there were people from all over," he said.
This year there were 10 food stalls where the public were able to taste a variety of flavours. There was also an entertainment program packed with a number of interactive dances and performances by local talent and cultural troupes from Sydney.
"Everybody was dancing," Mr Manorathan said.
While ORISCON initially began with the Indian subcontinent community, it has now grown to include those who had migrated from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Kenya, Middle East, Japan, Fiji, Great Britain, South Africa, West Indies, Canada, Mauritius, and the USA.
In particular this year the Filipino and Persian community were heavily involved.
"Those two communities were actively involved in contributing," he said.
Mr Manorathan said events like the Cross Cultural Celebration were crucial in creating "more awareness and acceptance of different cultures in Dubbo".
"The event is designed to provide cultural and settlement support to migrants from the ORISCON communities, but also build cross cultural understanding within the wider community," he said.
Mr Manorathan thanked Dubbo Regional Council and Regional Australia Bank for their support, which helped keep the event free.
