Newtown coach Josh Archer was pleased with the sides 5-1 victory after conceding a goal in the opening five minutes.
"It was a good win, we started off really good, we passed it around and were making good progress," he said.
"I think we had strung 30 or 40 passes together and they had barely strung five and they scored so the boys picked themselves up after that.
"From there we just put five on them, they just worked hard and didn't get too demoralised about being a goal down super early."

Archer admitted the side had been inconsistent to start the season but was impressed with the effort on the field.
"They all finally put in 100 per cent for each other, we lack consistency of that, we might have one game out of three where they put in for each and that was one of them," he said.
In the 5-1 victory, Archer admitted he was impressed with the selfless behaviour of his players in two of their goals.
"We got a penalty kick and Laikyn Cracknell scored that, I don't know why they gave it to him, he got a bit nervous and kicked it straight down the middle which I think is one of his first goals in seniors," he said.
"Jake Settree made a 20 metre dash to the goal line and whipped it to Brock Larance's feet and he did a very unselfish and smart touch back to Ethan Hyde to tap it in for his second goal.
"We've struggled in the last few games to put the ball in the back of the net so this game was a good turnaround and a good victory to boost confidence and score more goals in the future."
Settree also slotted a goal of his own as did Sam Bass for Newtown.
Wellington have started the season good form with Sunday's lost just their second for the season and Archer was impressed with some of the new recruits for the travelling side.
"It was a good game, Wellington have a lot of solar farmers and have picked up some new players, they are good team for sure," he said.
"They have this guys who love soccer, so they have a lot of talent in their squad for sure but in the game it was a really nice game, it didn't feel like it was 5-1."
The win for Newtown pushes them into fourth position on the ladder three points behind Wellington in third.
In the rounds other games, RSL 78's defeated the defending champion Orana Spurs 2-0.
Westside continued their strong start to the season to down Macquarie United 4-2 and South Dubbo Wanderers struggled against Dubbo Bulls losing 7-0.
