Dubbo Regional Aboriginal Health Service is hosting a National Sorry Day event on May 26 at Victoria Park No 2 Oval.
The day will include storytelling, traditional dancing, games, face painting and service providers. There will also be a free barbecue.
Social, emotional and wellbeing manager Catherine Noble said she hoped the day would begin with a traditional welcome and someone from the Stolen Generations sharing their story.

"We're trying to acknowledge what has happened in the past, while trying to build a brighter future. And empower [members of the Stolen Generations] to acknowledge what has happened and helping them any way we can on their healing journey," she said.
Ms Noble said it she hoped the event would bring the community together after COVID, while also sharing some cultural activities that "might peak an interest" in some of the younger attendees.
"We hope the community gets behind it," she said.
Bringing Them Home counsellor Phil Carney said the event was part of Reconciliation Week and it was a contemporary way for members of the Stolen Generation to heal.
Attendees will also have access to service providers.
"We're going to have different services there so Orana Support Service might provide housing advice, there could be job services that might provide opportunities for people to train or get a job," he said.
"We don't have all the answers but we're trying to provide some ways for people to move forward."
He hopes it will also provide an opportunity for the Dubbo Regional Aboriginal Health Service to form links with other organisations.
Mr Carney said it was open to people of all ethnicities, ages and abilities. The Sorry Day event will run from 10am until 3pm. COVID-safe practices will be in place.
