Connecting Community Services administration officer Shannon Doyle said they haven't held an event for seniors since February of last year due to COVID-19.
"Between COVID-19 and relocating to another building, we are excited to be able to get our senior activities up and running again," she said.
"Today was the first step of welcoming our seniors back. We are looking to hold four activity days each month with additional outings, such as the Butterfly Luncheon which will be held on the fourth Thursday of the month."
The Connecting Community Services activities are open to all community members over 65 upon booking.
Miss Doyle said the events provide seniors with safe settings to socialise.
"We put the events on for seniors to have a safe environment where they can still socialise," Miss Doyle said.

"The idea behind our barbecue was to get our seniors together again and to get a bit of an idea of what they want to do in the future."
Miss Doyle said they hoping to see the number of seniors coming to events grow, and they are also welcoming more community volunteers to help with events.
Connecting Community Services chief executive officer Michelle Redden said having a social environment and scheduled activities for the seniors within our community to look forward to is important.
"It's been such a shame that we had to put our senior's activities on hold due to COVID," Ms Redden said.
"COVID has been an extremely difficult time for all of us, but we felt helpless not being able to have the same social interaction with our seniors like we had done previously."
"Having a social environment and scheduled activities for our seniors to look forward to is so important and from our group's feedback, it is something they really look forward to.
"This event seeks to get seniors to meet and it gives us the opportunity to provide more information on what our program entails.
"We have a range of fun and exciting activities planned for our seniors and we tailor our programs based around the suggestions put forward from the group."
