A 19-year-old Dubbo man accused of assaulting a man by hitting him over the head with a glass bottle in Nyngan and spent almost a month behind bars has been granted conditional Supreme Court bail.

Police allege Jeremiah Chandler was in Nyngan attending an 18th birthday party at the showground on February 28 when the alleged incident occurred.
It's alleged a 33-year-old man was leaving the showground when he encountered a group of 15 people standing at the gate. The man allegedly joked toward the group asking "what's going on here" before walking past.

Chandler is alleged to have approached him, holding a glass bottle by the neck before he smashed it over the his forehead, causing lacerations to his face and head.
The man was taken to Dubbo Hospital in a serious condition, but is now understood to have made a full recovery.
Chandler was charged with reckless wounding in company, which he pleaded not-guilty to in Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
In early March, Chandler was refused his application for bail by Magistrate Brian van Zuylen, spending more than a month behind bars.
However, on April 15 he was granted strict conditional bail by Supreme Court Justice Stephen Campbell.
Conditions include that he report daily to Dubbo police, not take any illegal substance and abide by an 8pm to 5am curfew unless in the company of his mother or attending employment.
He must also not enter the township of Nyngan.
The matter will return to Dubbo Local Court on May 26.
