Committee spokesperson Adam Barrow explained this week that due to COVID-19 restrictions the numbers at this year's event have been limited.
In the past the glow has attracted anywhere from 5000 to 8000 people. However, this year the glow is restricted to 4000.
Organisers have already sold more than 2000 tickets to the glow event.
"It's a pretty big day for the town," Mr Barrow said of the main day for spectators.
This year's event, one of the main ones at the 2021 Canowindra Balloon Challenge kicking off this weekend, is being supported by 35 balloonists, which is down slightly on previous years due to overseas balloonists not being able to attend thanks to international borders still being shut.

"We have lots happening down the main street as well (as the balloon glow), there'll be a street parade and a whole lot of shopping and entertainment happening on down there as well," Mr Barrow said.
The activities and entertainment in Gaskill Street start from 9am.
"And then there are the activities up at sports oval from about 3pm and go through until about 8pm with the balloons lighting up at night," Mr Barrow said.
"We have night markets and entertainment, we've got Jayne Denham coming out performing for us, which is absolutely fantastic.
"You need to jump on to our website canowindrachallenge.org.au there's a link there to buying the tickets.
"Basically, the main difference this year is you can't just rock up at the gate and wander in, everyone has to pre-purchase a ticket.
"We've already sold just over 2000 tickets to the event and that includes registering your kids for the event."
Entry cost for children is just a gold coin donation.
The challenge starts this Saturday, April 24 with daily balloon flights from 6am in the morning at from 3.30pm in the afternoon, weather depending.
