Staggs was predicted to return around round 12 of this season but given his progress he could return as early as magic round in round 10.
Brisbane winger Corey Oates told NRL.com he was looking forward to Staggs' possible early return.
"It's awesome," Oates said.
"He's a weapon out there and he's a strike player, he can honestly create something out of absolutely nothing and it's really good to see him strong and out there running and all of those things.
"He still has some time left and we want him to be as fit and as strong as possible, you don't want to bring him back to early, it's a big injury and don't want the chance of him doing it again."

With rumours circulating about a possible move from centre to five-eighth Staggs is one of the most talked about players this season before even stepping on the field.
Off-contract for 2022, Staggs has numerous clubs including the Gold Coast Titans chasing his signature with the star yet to re-sign with Brisbane.
Before his injury, Staggs was one of the best centre's in the competition and would have likely been selected in Brad Fittler's NSW State of Origin squad last year.
Meanwhile, South Sydney Rabbitohs fans in the region are set to see a fresh Latrell Mitchell line up at Apex Oval next month.
Superstar fullback Mitchell failed in his bid to have a dangerous contact charge downgraded at the judiciary on Tuesday night and will now miss Souths' next four games.
His first game back will be his side's bumper meeting with Penrith in Dubbo on May 23.
The suspension also ends Mitchell's hopes of claiming this season's Dally M medal.
