The opportunity was created by Dubbo Regional Council for a local artist to get paid for playing at the game.
Ms Thorn won the competition when she suddenly had a burst of votes come in towards the end, pushing her past Mr Compton who had been resting in the lead, but she ultimately decided to share the spotlight.

"I love collaborating with Isaac. He has helped me out in the past and has been a big supporter of my music," Ms Thorn said.
"I asked if we could split it, if we could do a set each and then close off the hour together."
Mr Compton said he was happy to see another artist take out the win but was thankful to Ms Thorn for her decision to share the opportunity with him.
"I enjoyed the competition actually, it was good," Mr Compton said.
"It was good to see someone else winning other than my big head."
The duo will be performing out in the functioning area prior to the game.
While this won't be Mr Compton's first time performing at an NRL match, it is quite the opposite for Ms Thorn.
"I'm super excited," she said.
"It's a great opportunity and it will be good to share my music with an audience."
Ms Thorn said she hoped more NRL games could be held in regional areas and in Dubbo in the future.
"It's a really good thing for Dubbo and boosts our cultural opportunities, they should do it more," she said.
"And, you never know who's going to be at these events, there could be someone important in the crowd."
The duo are also quite happy with the teams playing.
Although Mr Compton is a Bulldogs supporter he said the Rabbitohs came "a close second", while Ms Thorn said the Panthers were a good choice as many players are from the area.
"I actually went to school with Isaah Yeo," she said.
