The Regional Sessions will bring Australian folktronica singer/songwriter Sophie Payten, known professionally as Gordi, and Sydney-based singer/songwriter Ilan Kidron to town alongside some more iconic names yet to be confirmed.
The unique one-day session includes a keynote 'In Conversation', a songwriter panel, workshop sessions and networking opportunities for emerging and mid-career songwriters and music creators.
The program will culminate with a curated performance and post-event networking.
Gordi said she will be sharing songwriting inspiration with her Dubbo participants and encourages everyone with an interest to come along for the day.
"I am looking forward to sharing songwriting inspiration as well as plenty of practical and helpful advice to my fellow songwriters at The Regional Sessions in Dubbo," she said.
"As someone who grew up in a regional area, I encourage anyone making music to come along and get the most out of a day dedicated to what we all love to do - write songs."
Gordi grew up in Canowindra, a small regional town in NSW, and had recorded her second album Our Two Skins at her family's sheep farm there.
The Regional Sessions were created to have a high-impact to foster creativity, connections and industry knowledge at what is being described as a crucial time for those pursuing music as we come off the back burner of the coronavirus pandemic.
