When asked about a possible move by Panthers media after eighth rugby league immortal Andrew Johns called Staines the next great fullback during his show Freddy and the Eighth.
"Certainly in the future maybe, I'm loving where I'm playing at the moment on the wing so it's obviously good to get those compliments and hopefully in the future you know if I play fullback I play fullback but I'm loving where I am at that moment." Staines said.
Reigning Daily M Centre of the Year Stephen Crichton moved to fullback to cover the injured Dylan Edwards and Staines said he did not mind being overlooked by coaches for the move.
"Not really, I put the faith in Ivan (Cleary) and the coaches hands they made the decisions and they thought 'Critta' was the best for the team at the moment and I'm happy." he said.
"He's obviously a very good centre and he's a big body but I think he is doing well with his line organisation and his running game, so I have full faith in him to do the job."

Penrith is five wins from as many games and although Staines admitted the feeling around the club is good they are weary about their upcoming match against Brisbane Broncos on Thursday night.
"It's a good feeling around the club at the moment, all the boys are happy, we are all happy playing footy and we are playing well so hopefully we can keep that form going." he said.
"We just treat every team as equals, we know they are going to come out firing and they are going to get up for this game.
"We need to get up for this game as well, we weren't at our best last week and we certainly need to fix that because they are a dangerous team."
Staines praised five-eighth Jarome Luai for his performances over the first five rounds of the season.
"He's unreal, he is a talented player and I'm loving watching him play and playing with him." he said.
"He brings the energy among the boys and all the boys get behind it and he brings a good vibe to the club."
Staines is enjoying a solid start in his first full season in the Panthers NRL side scoring a double last weekend against Canberra, bringing his try tally to three for the season.
Penrith currently sits in first place heading into round six of the competition two points clear of second place. Remarkably, the Panthers have only conceded 26 points in five matches to start the season and have scored 140.
The majority of the points have come on the lethal edge of Viliame Kikau, Luai, Matt Burton and Brian To'o.
