In two weeks Mrs Hanlon will shave her hair to raise funds for the Dubbo Wig Library Volunteers, located at the Western Plains Cultural Centre.
Mrs Hanlon has so far raised more than $250, which is enough for one wig, and has an ultimate goal of raising funds for two.
"We moved [to Dubbo] 16 months. We came here to get the services we needed for my nephew who is disabled," Mrs Hanlon said.
"He is nearly 30 and we have had him since he was six weeks old. We had not had a break in four years. Due to depression from the move, my health has been a bit poor. Both myself and my husband Mark suffer with depression. Leaving Sydney took a toll on our lives and since my head has had a very bad rash. I've tried a lot of shampoos and creams that have been prescribed by the Doctor, but they are not working and as I have thick hair.
"After the shave I am going to see a dermatologist. I said I would only ever shave my head for my family or for a great course."

Mrs Hanlon said Dubbo Wig Library volunteer Carol Dickson will also be shaving her hair.
"I approached [Carol] and she was so willing to do it," Mrs Hanlon said.
Mrs Hanlon said she is not afraid to lose her hair as she knows it will grow back, however, she also realises that for many women who fall ill and lose their hair as a result, it can be rather heartbreaking.
"As a woman I could not imagine if I was to loose your my hair due to a medical problem, so this is why the Wig Library needs donations to keep going as they can get get up to two or three clients through the doors a week.
"My hair will grow back, whereas some women have to wait a lot longer for their hair to return due to treatment. So if can raise money for a few wigs this also would help with their recovery and their self esteem. I will say, I am very saddened that my family and friends have not got on board as I have a huge family. Hopefully there might be more donations as it gets closer."
Mrs Hanlon will have her head shaved on April 22 at 11:30am at the Western Plains Cultural Centre.
