This week, the Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) named the three practices in Dubbo which had joined the 1b phase in its second week.
The WNSW PHN advised the list of practices offering the AstraZeneca vaccine would grow in week three and four of the 1b phase. A total of 56 practices across the WNSW PHN region are expected to deliver the jab under 1b.
It covers people over the age of 70; people with serious underlying conditions; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over the age of 55, as well as some critical and high-risk workers and healthcare workers.
"We continue to remind local residents that there is no immediate urgency and everyone eligible under phase 1b will be vaccinated in as timely a manner as possible, and we sincerely appreciate their patience during this process," a WNSW PHN spokesman said.
"As more deliveries of vaccines arrive in our region it will provide greater opportunities for an increasing number of locals to be vaccinated."
The WNSW PHN is encouraging people to check their eligibility for a jab and find out how to make a vaccination appointment at covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility.
