Dubbo Regional Council advises the walkway will be closed from April 6 to 23 because of construction of the pipeline.
"We apologise for any inconvenience during this time and thank the community for their understanding while this important water infrastructure project is completed," a council spokesman said.

The pipeline is set to be completed in June.
One of its primary functions will be moving non-potable groundwater from the bores used to water green spaces to the John Gilbert Water Treatment Plant during "severe drought".
The dual pipeline will also have the capacity to move treated effluent from the Dubbo Sewage Treatment Plant to replace the non-potable groundwater used for irrigation, and to Taronga Western Plains Zoo in the future.
In early March the council confirmed 11 kilometres of the 19-kilometre pipeline had been laid.
The pipeline is being funded from a $30 million drought emergency grant from the state government.
It is being built by Western Sydney's Jonishan Pty Ltd.
