To date, the stormwater network and water main reticulation have been upgraded. Next will be the work to install the conduits for the underground electricity cables. Followed by the new kerb and gutter, and an accessible footpath, trees new asphalting and a wombat crossing.

Dubbo Regional Council infrastructure director Julian Geddes said the reconstruction project required a lot of planning and design work before it could start.
"This project has roughly the same amount of work, if not more, under the surface as it does on the top," he said.
The underground works are expected to be completed by April 23.
