Orana Gardens is a self-owned community-run residential aged care facility and retirement village.
"The village itself is 30-years-old, so I want to maintain and look at upgrading it and keeping it modern," Mr Grose said.
"As for the residential aged care, which consists of a dementia unit, lodge and the John Whittle House, my plan is to make it the best care we have in Dubbo.
"It's the largest community-run residential care in Dubbo, so I want to look into new modules for aged care, particularly for dementia."
Mr Grose served the military for 22 years in the medical field before working for NSW Health.
He then went on to study a master of business and administration which he completed prior to his new role.
"I always wanted to get into a business-related profession," he said.
"[CEO] is an incredibly challenging position.
"There are many aspects to it, but I'm here to provide stability. It sits close to me, I have strong community attachments and Orana Gardens is entirely community run.
"I'm also a veteran, so given its history the job here was naturally of interest to me."
Dubbo RSL Sub Branch, a branch which provides advocacy and welfare for ex-servicemen and women, initially built Orana Gardens through community grants. It now runs as its own entity and has done so for the last four years.
Mr Grose said he believed the best care should be given to those of age, especially when it was our own.
"They're our elders, they deserve to be cared for," he said.
"Most of the people living at the retirement village are or who are in our care are from Dubbo or the area, most people will know one or two people staying here, so it's important to the community."
Mr Grose said a rewarding factor of the job was getting to hear various stories from those living in the village about their experiences.
