After a delayed start due to the wet weather the Tigers batted first which looked like the wrong decision when Gary Milliken was removed by Lloyd Chikari for two.
The middle order for the Tigers got starts but no player went on to make a big score with Craig Pettit top scoring with 18, as his side posted 8/100.
Angus Lennon was the pick of the bowlers for the Demons with figures of 3/24 and found help in Chikari 2/9 and Ben Bunt 2/29.
Bevan Charlton-White (30) and Bunt (23) looked likely to get the Demons over the line but some tight bowling by Andrew Gardiner (2/6) and Don Skinner (2/11) was enough as the Tigers win by 13 runs.
